Been doing family research
#1
Been doing family genealogy again and have found a few new things out.

1. Denis Doherty (who is my 3rd great grandfather) isn't my 3rd great grandfather.

2. John "Daugherty" (2nd great grandfather) who was born in Ireland in 1848 was apparently stolen or adopted

3. Margaret Grogan (my so-called 3rd great grandmother) would have only been 10 years old at the time of his birth

4. The Doherty's had ten children John Daugherty, John J. Daugherty, Sabina Daugherty, William Daugherty, Thomas M. Dougherty, Mary Ellen Daugherty, Frank Daugherty, Edward J. Daugherty, Margaret Daugherty, Walter Daugherty,

5. According to the US Census of 1870 the only John living with the family at the time was John J who was born in 1858, he was 12 in 1870. Older John (who was born in 1848) didn't live at home (he was 22 at the time)

6. There is two John - Older John born in 1848 and married Sally Giles. John J was born in 1858 and married Mary Ann McNally.

7. Doherty's have a DNA sequence that is passed directly from male to male and it can trace all the way back to Niall Noígíallach (Nial of Nine Hostages) that DNA sequence in M222. My DNA doesn't not have M222. The main sequence it does have is L744 which is a different family.

8. L744 DNA sequence is the Stewarts (mainly the Stewarts who were settled in Ireland on a "Plantation")

9. My Brother also doesn't have M222 as well and has the L744 gene sequence.

10. More DNA test WILL be done to confirm this
